His artistry has been seen on the theater stage and film scenes but Joey first and first most is a prolific painter.
Joey Ofludor, born Jose Templonuevo Rodulfo in Manila, is a surrealist painter known among his peers for his attention to detail, use of bold, rich colors and nature themes. Recently, in 2017, he won the grand prize in the Art Work Sharing, an international competition in the United Kingdom. Joey’s works have been featured in a number of group exhibits in the 1990s and in solo exhibits held in the same decade. An architecture (1981) and fine arts (1983) graduate of the University of Santo Tomas (UST), he taught courses in UST, La Consolacion College and in the Centro Escolar University (CEU). He was instrumental in building the City Government of Makati’s art and cultural program. Ofludor is a theater director. He was the set designer for Ishmael Bernal’s movies – Pahiram ng Isang Umaga, Dear Teacher, and Wating. As a painter, he is a member of a number of artists groups: Grupong Contempo, Antipolo Art Group, Pinoy na Pintor Group, and Obra Maestra Group.
